I saw it last night.
She stepped into a pothole and never came out.
She crumpled to the ground, reaching for the ankle that we all just heard, “pop”.
I didn't know her.
I was just running by.
I stopped to "help", but that was a pathetic effort.
There was absolutely nothing anyone could do.
The damage was done.
This occurred on York Ave and 73rd St. Be Warned!
It is an incredibly sobering experience to see a healthy, youthful mother taken out by an inexcusable “urban-landmine”.
We must be cautious and keep our peripherals focused at all times, so we can avoid injury.
So if you notice hazardous obstacles during your run, change your course. Find one without those dangerous challenges.
Good Luck!
